This resources page is going to get compiled over time based on the tools and services I use to help me get this blog up and running and anything that’s inspired me along the way. It is by no means a definitive list, I’m bound to forget something, but this is a start.

I’m not saying you should buy everything I’ve bought and use everything I use, but some poeple just like to know what’s going on in the background of a website.

Tools

My Desktop - 27" iMac, Canon 5dmk2, GoPro Hero 4 Black - Wallet Workout

  • 27″ Apple iMac (Late 2103)

Almost every post I write is written here. Quite honestly, it’s way overkill for what is required for writing a blog, but I didn’t intentionally buy it for that purpose. It’s used for working from home as a server technician and for editing photos where the screen size is a massive benefit. On the money side of things, I did make the purchase from Apple’s “Refurbished” store for a fairly massive discount!

  • Canon EOS 5D mk2 DSLR Camera

The photo editing I mentioned above almost all originates from here. I have a passion for photography as well as being wise with money. Not usually two things that go hand in hand! Buying second hand, but in great condition off a good friend was where I saved some money too.

Services

  • 34SP.com

Every website needs somewhere to live on the internet, after being bogged down by researching web hosting providers, I stopped at 34SP by high recommendation of a good friend. If you sign up for them and mention WalletWorkout.co.uk, we each get a month free! I started off with the professional hosting.

Inspiration

  • I Will Teach You To Be Rich – Ramit Sethi

This book has an amazingly scammy sounding title, but the author will tell you that himself. If it wasn’t based for the American market, I would just host a website that pointed to this book. It points out a lot of the ideas that I was already thinking of and it all made a lot more sense after seeing it written down… except the translation to the British equivalents took some research.

  • The Four Hour Work Week – Tim Ferris

Potentially another scammy sounding title (is there a trend here?)  that makes it sounds like a work of fiction. Looking for a step by step fools guide? This isn’t it. It is however, a really is a good read and helped me gain the ability to focus on ideas outside of my real job.
